A FREE initiative to help people with Parkinson’s to get moving is being showcased at a special one-day exercise event next week.

The Parkinson’s Exercise and Information Roadshow will offer people of all ages and stages of the condition an opportunity to try out different types of exercise that can help ease symptoms.

Activities on offer on the day will include racquetball, aquafit, chair-based circuits, active health circuits, tai chi, static cycling and an introduction to gym equipment.

Kirsty McDowell, area development manager for Parkinson’s UK, said: “This one day exercise event is designed to help people with Parkinson’s get moving by finding the right exercise that suits them. Anyone affected by Parkinson’s – including family members and carers – is very welcome to come along and try out different types of exercise for free.”

The event takes place at Billingham Forum on Friday, April 7 between 2.15pm and 6.30pm. To book a place call 07964-036930 or email on kmcdowell@parkinsons.org.uk
