A CONSTRUCTION manager from the region is appearing on a TV documentary about what goes on behind the scenes of the rail industry.
The final episode of Inside King’s Cross: The Railway, which was on Channel 5 on Monday night features Network Rail manager Ben Cockburn, from Durham.
The programme shows his team working on a major improvement project installing waybeams on Newcastle’s King Edward bridge.
Mr Cockburn, who has worked for the company for 14 years, said: “The work which is shown in Monday’s episode took place over Christmas, a time when most people are at home with their families but it is one of the busiest times for engineering work on the railway.
“It’s fantastic that the documentary gives viewers a look at all the work which we do behind the scenes to keep the railway running.”
- Inside King’s Cross: The Railway airs tonight on Channel 5 at 9pm.
