UNUSUAL aspects of medieval and renaissance culture, including alchemy and magic, are set to be explored in a community course.
Durham’s Medieval and Early Modern Student Association said it would also provide an introduction to subjects such as astronomy and witchcraft.
The sessions are led by specialist researchers and will offer a regional perspective, including witchcraft trials in the Durham church courts and understanding objects housed by Whitby Museum.
The eight-week course costs £35 and takes place in the World Heritage Visitor Centre, in Owengate, Durham, on Thursdays between 6pm and 8pm, starting from May 4.
People must register by Friday, April 28 by emailing imrs.memsa@durham.ac.uk.
