DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was struck by a car and left with serious injuries in Spennymoor.
The 30-year-old victim, of the town, was hit just after 1am on Sunday, March 12, on Half Moon Lane, and was forced to spend several days in hospital.
He suffered injuries including fractures on his leg and is now recovering at home.
The wall of a house was also badly damaged in the collision.
Police said a black Vauxhall Astra did not stop at the scene but was recovered shortly afterwards.
A 25-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of driving offences and a serious wounding.
He is currently on police bail while inquiries continue.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have information to contact PC Nichola Gaines from South Durham CID via non-emergency 101.
