WOMEN across the region are being invited to give it both barrels this summer at the world’s largest female clay shooting event.

Hazel Bank Shooting Club in Knaresborough is the host ground for National Ladies’ Shooting Day - NLSD2017 - on Saturday, June, 10.

The event is created and organised by The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club and aims to be a fun and inclusive day featuring 29 simultaneous clay pigeon shooting events across the UK, which will see over 1,500 women taking part in total.

National Ladies’ Shooting Day was established in 2015 by Victoria Knowles-Lacks, founder of the UK’s largest ladies shooting club.

Last year’s event saw more than 1,500 women give the sport a try.

Mrs Knowles-Lacks said: “Our NLSD2017 events are suitable for women with all levels of experience, so it doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for both total newbies through to the more experienced shots who are looking for a good fun day out and the chance to meet new like-minded shooting friends.

“NLSD2017 its growing year on year and I want even more ladies out there in the clay ground trying our amazing sport.”

The order of the day is to have fun and enable women to try their hand at clay shooting.

They will be coached in clay pigeon shooting and be in with the chance to win some top prizes.

The full day event costs £42 and includes coaching, gun hire, cartridges, clays, ear and eye protection. Visit shotgunandchelseabunclub.co.uk to book.
