ORGANISERS of one of the region's much-loved folk festivals have announced this year's line-up.

The 12th annual Sedgefield Folk Festival will be held in September in venues in and around the town.

Among the acts in the line-up are family outfit The Mighty Doonans, West End production War Horse star Bob Fox and Belfast singer-songwriter Anthony John Clarke.

Joan Edmondson, organiser, said: "It's a totally self-funded festival and this is our 12th year. It has become exceptionally well known in the area and people are already booking up to come."

Others set to perform at the music celebration will be international singer Flossie Malavaialle, five-piece bluegrass band The Dirty Beggars, accordionist Leonard Brown, Los Capitanes and Birmingham duo The Goodfellows.

The John Wrightson Band, Judith Haswell and Trish McLean, Stockton to Darlington Ukelele Express, The Old Age Travellers and world spoons champion Bert Draycott will also perform.

It will take place from September 1 to 3, across venues including the Parish Hall, Ceddesfeld Hall and St Edmund's Church.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, May 1.
