PLANS are already underway for a third fire and ice festival following a successful weekend.
Organisers at Durham’s Business Improvement District say footfall increased by seven per cent during the weekend of Fire&Ice InDurham, which took place on February 24 and 25 – making it the busiest weekend of the year so far.
Adam Deathe, business engagement manager, said: “We’re all coming down following the buzz of Fire&Ice InDurham. The streets were packed with people of all ages coming into the city to enjoy the festival and all that Durham has to offer.
“Feedback from visitors and businesses in Durham alike has been superb with many people saying it’s one of the best events they’ve ever seen. It’s fast becoming a regular on people’s calendars, so much so, we’ve already started planning the event for next year.”
