A FIRE broke out in a derelict factory in County Durham on Sunday.
Firefighters were called to TKT Cosyfoam in Lambton Lane, Houghton-le -Spring at 5.10pm.
Five pumping appliances and 22 firefighters attended the scene.
A Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue spokesperson said one seat of fire had been located and extinguised just after 6pm.
Crews are in the process of searching the rest of the factory.
Houghton and Hetton police said youths had been congregating at the factory and warned people to stay away from the building, which it said was dangerous.
