EASINGWOLD residents have told of the dramatic moment a car crashed into a house and landed on another car.

Police, fire crews and paramedics, were called to the town at about 9.30pm on Tuesday following reports that a white BMW 1 had hit a house in Long Street.

Two other cars, a blue Vauxhall Corsa and a Toyota Yaris, were also involved.

Nobody has been arrested and it is believed no-one was injured, police said.

Jade Barnes, who lives near where the crash happened, said: "The house the car crashed into was the house of a heavily pregnant lady who is my friends sister so I went to check she was ok.

"Emergency services were already on the scene. We live a few doors down and heard a crash but presumed it was people putting the bins out. It was only when I saw the emergency services that I knew something had happened."

Phil Kendall, who lives across the road from where the crash happened, said: "We heard the bang but didn't see it. My daughter was just driving into the yard at the back of the house as it happened. So I thought it was something to do with her. She just avoided the crash by about 20 seconds.

"It was like a scene out of a movie."

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "It is not believed anyone was injured.

"The road was closed whilst the vehicle was recovered."

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "No persons were trapped or injured but the electrics to two properties was damaged due to the collision, crews stood by and made the scene safe."

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to phone North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 12170034636.
