LEADING trainers will go head to head at a race day at a North-East course next weekend.
Sedgefield Racecourse, County Durham, is hosting its annual raceday sponsored by Collins Seafoods on Sunday which will see the final of the Young Chasers Series.
The competition is for horses aged five and up that have run in one of the eight qualifying races since August 2016.
Those qualifying for the £30,000 prize fund include leading Sedgefield trainer Brian Ellison, local trainers Chris Grant and Rebecca Menzies plus Sue Smith.
Jill Williamson, Executive Director of Sedgefield Racecourse, said: “Last year’s raceday was exceptionally popular, and we’re sure this meeting will be no different.
“Fish and chips are a British institution, and teamed with a great day at the races, it is a real treat for people of all ages.”
Gates open at 12.20pm allowing for racegoers to tuck into fish and chips ahead of the contest at 2.20pm.
