VISITORS to York have enjoyed a week-long celebration of the city's Viking heritage.
The Jorvik Viking Festival – which commemorates the last Viking king in the city, Eric Bloodaxe – culminated with a series of city-wide events yesterday.
Vikings marched through the city ahead of a battle in front of the famous Clifford's Tower.
The activities included Viking encampments, archaeological discoveries, crafting and sword combat.
The festival – the largest of its kind in Europe – attracts over 40,000 visitors each year from across the globe,
