DOG owners, in Thirsk can take advantage of a range of free services for their four-legged friend next week.

Thirsk and Sowerby Town Hall on Westgate will host the session on March 6 where services such as health checks, nail clipping and training advice will be on offer.

Owners can also get their dogs microchipped for free thanks to a donation by the Dogs Trust.

Existing microchips can also be checked and updated.

The event, which runs from 11am until 3pm, is being staged in partnership between Hambleton District Council and the Dogs Trust and Councillor Stephen Watson encouraged dog owners to go along.

He said: “It is already a legal requirement for dogs to be microchipped and to wear a collar with ID tag when in public.

“We are happy to be able to continue our partnership with Dogs Trust and offer this free service to Hambleton dog owners.”

There is no need to book.
