OUR son, Lance Corporal Ben Hyde, was one of six Royal Military policemen who died in Iraq on June 24, 2003.

Since that time we have been closely involved, not only in still trying to get a full inquest into our son’s death, but also in the Chilcot inquiry, a full copy of which we have in our possession.

The report shows that, not only did Tony Blair make decisions that arguably, he did not have the authority to make without the support of Parliament, but he also ignored the requests of people on the ground in the months following the invasion for people to rebuild the infrastructure of the country and the troop numbers to provide security for them.

I did not necessarily disagree with the war in Iraq.

I believe it was something that sooner or later would have to be done.

However, I do believe that 179 British personnel died in Iraq because of Tony Blair’s inability to properly asses a situation.

He is now asking us to hold another referendum on our decision to exit from Europe because he thinks that we can now see the problems it will cause.

I feel that the arrogance of a man with such a proven track record of failure is beyond belief.

The majority of the population voted to leave Europe, lets just get on with it.
