ROAD improvement works to ease traffic at a busy Middlesbrough junction are due to get underway shortly.
The carriageway of A171 Cargo Fleet Lane is being widened at its junction with Cranmore Road, creating a separate lane for vehicles turning right into Cranmore Road.
The changes will see vehicles travelling south on Cargo Fleet Lane towards Ormesby to do so unimpeded and allow the junction to work more efficiently, particularly during the evening peak period, reducing the congestion and delays.
Work will begin on Monday, February 13, with completion expected by the end of March.
Middlesbrough’s deputy mayor Cllr Charlie Rooney assured motorists that every effort will be made to reduce the impact of the works.
