A NEWSPAPER is leaving its Middlesbrough town centre base after selling the building to the neighbouring Teesside University.
The Gazette’s Borough Road offices have been bought by the university which already owns the adjoining Cook building and will form part of its expansion plans.
The move will see the former evening newspaper take up residence in Hudson Quay which is located on Middlehaven, near the Riverside stadium.
Malcolm Page, the university’s chief operating officer, said: “The Gazette’s decision to relocate is an excellent opportunity for us to continue to develop Teesside University as one of the best study environments in the country. We want to ensure our students benefit from the highest quality facilities and we will continue our investment to achieve this.”
