A WOMAN who was allegedly assaulted and threatened at knifepoint has sustained several injuries, including a broken shoulder.

The 32-year-old woman reported being approached by another woman carrying a knife before being dragged to the ground between 5.15am and 5.30am on Wednesday, January 11.

The woman fought off the suspected attacker but suffered cuts and tendon damage to her fingers after catching her hand on the blade.

Cleveland Police were called after the incident on a grassed area between North Green, South Green, Parliament Walk and Parkfield Way, in Stockton.

The alleged attacker is believed to have left the scene on foot after also taking a sum of money from the 32-year-old.

The suspect is described as a white woman in her late 20s, around 5ft 4in, with mousey brown hair tied in a ponytail.

She was wearing a light-coloured zipped tracksuit top and trainers at the time of the incident.

The 32-year-old involved in the incident was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering a broken shoulder, wounds to her fingers and hand and a cut lip.
