MUSICIANS will be walking in the air as a community unites for an annual festive fundraiser in aid of a Darlington hospice.
The 16th annual Christmas Cracker concert will feature a live performance to the soundtrack of The Snowman alongside an exclusive screening of the animated Christmas film.
St Teresa’s Hospice is set to benefit from the evening of music after serving the North-East for 30 years by offering care for those diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses.
Volunteers, including a host of guest choirs, will stage this year’s festivities in the Education Village, off Salter’s Lane South, Darlington, this weekend.
Jane Bradshaw, chief executive of the Woodland Road-based St Teresa’s Hospice, said: “This lovely concert marks the start of Christmas for me and we feel privileged to be the beneficiaries of such a moving spectacle.
“We have moved to a new venue this year and the Education Village boasts plenty of free parking.
“The Snowman will be the centrepiece of a delightful, family friendly, festive and emotional occasion.”
Tickets are £12 on the door or £10 in advance for the show at 7pm on Saturday, December 17.
Advance tickets are being sold at the hospice and St T’s shops in Skinnergate, Cockerton and Mowden.
