A FORUM has been launched to help give young people a voice in the region.
The North East Party has launched an online forum for young people to discuss issues that matter to them.
The forum, which can be found on Facebook, is open to all aged 25 or under regardless of political party membership or political beliefs.
The aim of the forum is to discuss and develop policies that young people feel would help them and compile them into a North East Young Persons Manifesto that will be presented to political leaders both locally and nationally.
Young persons officer David Cockburn said: “Young people are the North-East’s single greatest asset however having discussions with various young people across the region it is worrying that many of them feel that their future lies away from the North-East simply due to lack of opportunities in the region.”
Anyone interested in taking part can search for The North East Young Persons Forum on Facebook or email david.cockburn@thenortheastparty.org.uk
