RESIDENTS from a Bishop Auckland care have gotten into the festive spirit after entering a Christmas card competition.

HC-One’s Bishopsgate Lodge Care Home launched the competition last month which is open to all residents.

The winning entry will be chosen as the official HC-One corporate Christmas card for 2016 and the the winning resident(s) will receive a luxury Christmas hamper, £100 and printed versions of their entry.

And in the true spirit of Christmas, the residents have been hard at work to create an extra special Christmas card.

This year’s offering was a collaborative effort between three of the residents which captures a Christmas tree scene.

Paul Burn, Bishopsgate Lodge Care Home Manager, said: “The spirit of Christmas is joining in, having fun and sharing, and we’re delighted with the end result of our Resident’s efforts.”

HC-One’s Regional Managing Director, Glen Mason, added: “The annual Christmas card competition is one our residents really look forward to and Bishopsgate Lodge’s entry is strong contender for the winning prize.

“Initiatives like this are integral in showing residents they are at the centre of everything we do and is an important part in helping HC-One provide the kindest care.”
