PUPILS at Stokesley Primary Academy have swapped their pens for hard hats to learn about health and safety at a housing development near their school.
Homebuilder Taylor Wimpey invited year one pupils to its Stokesley Grange estate for a fun-filled session delivered by the Taylor Wimpey team.
Scott McFarlane, head teacher at Stokesley Primary Academy, said: “The children had such a brilliant time and really understood the importance of staying away from building sites, as well as health and safety in the home.
“The visit was a fantastic, interactive experience, and a great alternative to learning outside of the traditional classroom. It not only allowed the children to explore the development, but it gave them a chance to learn what a typical day is like for those in hard hats.”
This is the third time Taylor Wimpey worked with the academy in recent months, following a donation of high-visibility wristbands for a Walk to School campaign, and a street naming competition.
