STAFF and volunteers at a Jacobean stately home have been preparing for Christmas with members of local flowers by decorating the house with blooms and greenery.
Kiplin Hall, near Scorton, is preparing for its Christmas opening this weekend, and more than 50 people have transformed the hall in the theme of Christmas Carols.
A drum, lent by Richmond’s Green Howards Museum, ships, a manger, a castle, eight Christmas trees, holly and ivy, flowers and fresh greenery have been used to represent well-loved carols, including The Little Drummer Boy; Hark the Herald Angels Sing and The Holly and the Ivy.
During the weekend there is also a Christmas Gift Fair and the tea room is open.
The hall, tea room and fair are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 2 to 4; and December 9 to 11, from 10am to 4pm.
Admission to the hall and decorations: adult £8.65, concession £7.80, child £4.50 and family £23.60.
