POLICE are hunting two men who attempted to rob a pensioner while she was standing at bus stop.
The 75-year-old victim was waiting at the bus stop outside Hawkesbury Mews in the Woodland Road area of Darlington at 8.55pm on Thursday evening when two men tried to snatch her handbag from her shoulder.
During the struggle with the two would-be robbers the pensioner fell to the floor and suffered minor injuries.
The men made off empty handed towards Darlington town centre.
Detective Constable Neil Stannard, from Darlington CID, said” “This was a shocking incident which has left an elderly lady badly shaken and injured.
“With this in mind I would urge anyone with information as to the identity of these men to come forward.
“I am also interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the time mentioned.”
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to Darlington police on 101, quoting incident number 484 of October 27.
