A PENSIONER has been punched and robbed in his own home by a man wearing a clown mask.

The 69-year-old man was attacked at his home on Howlbeck Road, Guisborough, some time between 6.20pm and 6.30pm on Monday night, after the pensioner answered a call to his front door.

The robber was wearing a black hooded top, gloves and white, red and black clown mask. He took the victim's wallet containing a small amount of cash and bank cards.

His daughter left a heartfelt message on Facebook. It said: "My dad was attacked tonight in his own home. The evil idiots were wearing a clown mask and knocked on his door. When he opened it they smashed his nose and face and stole his wallet. Disgusting. He's a pensioner. Hope you're feeling so happy with what you have done."

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the person responsible is asked to contact Detective Constable Mick Jackson on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
