A TEENAGE girl has been questioned by police following a violent assault of another young girl.
The probe was launched after a video showing a teenage girl being brutally attacked was uploaded to Facebook over the weekend.
The two minute clip showed a young girl being repeatedly punched and kicked in the head by her attacker.
The video, which also shows the young girl being dragged around the park by her hair, has since been removed from the social media site following complaints.
In the disturbing footage the victim can be heard begging her attacker to leave her alone, while none of the children watching try to stop the beating and some laugh.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman confirmed one person had been spoken to about the incident.
She added: “We have also had further names put forward by witnesses and will carry out further inquiries to trace these people.”
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward by calling non emergency number 101.
