Look out for ghastly ghouls and haunting ghosts at the Kiplin Hall Halloween Spooktacular! Walk in the woods – if you dare!

The Grey Lady of the Woods is searching for her lover, and who is that by the pond making her way to the summerhouse? The ghostly spectre by the pets’ graves could be Pickles, or is it Punch?

Search the woods to find the apparitions hiding there, but beware, don’t go alone!! In the house, if you can get past the apparition on the doorstep, follow the Skeleton Trail to the top of the house to the Witches Lair!

Spoo-Quay, National Museum of the Royal Navy, Hartlepool, on Friday/Saturday, 5.30-8.30pm

Spoo-Quay is back at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Hartlepool.

Activities include: Creepy Crawlies to hold Mr Twister the Magician, craft workshops, storytelling on HMS Trincolalee, fairground ride, pumpkin competition, theatrical performances from East Durham College and Casting Call. Spoo-Quay refreshments, plus lots more!

 Halloween at the Workhouse Museum, Ripon, on all week

Monster Saturday, Bishop Auckland Town Hall

Join the Bishop Auckland Town Team on Saturday, between 10:30am and 2:30pm as they bring you spooky goings on in and around the Bishop Auckland Town Centre.

Enjoy a Halloween filled day with spooky entertainment as they celebrate the traditional event.

Dress up in your spooky costumes and join in our ‘Pumpkin Parade’ Starts in the Newgate Shopping Centre at 1:00pm. Prizes for the best dressed!

Children can get their faces painted for free inside the Newgate Shopping Centre and ‘Bishop The Boar’ will be making guest appearances around the town throughout the day.

Enjoy some spooky dancing from the Sandra Welsh School of Dance in the Market Place at 11:30am and 12:30pm.

Listen to spooky ghost stories inside Bishop Auckland Town Hall at 10:30am, 11:15am and 12:00pm.

Riverford’s Pumpkin Day, Home Farm, Northallerton, on Saturday, 11-4pm

Veg box producer Riverford is inviting you to pull on your wellies and join them down on the farm for their legendary Pumpkin Day to celebrate all things autumnal.

There will be lots of activities and farm tours and, of course, plenty of seasonal food to enjoy. Children’s activities will include pumpkin carving, tractor rides, face painting, worm digging and much more. There’s lots for the grown-ups too.

Enjoy live music from local folk band, Fiddlyn Man Doris while chilli stringing , pick up tips in the seasonal cookery demonstrations or find out more about organic farming while taking a stroll around the beautiful farm and wildlife spotting.

Halloween Evenings, Beamish Open Air Museum

Halloween evenings at Beamish, now in their seventh year, are sure to give you a Halloween fright night you’ll never forget.

With The Town, Pit Village, Colliery Yard and Pockerley Old Hall swamped with petrifying creatures, only the brave will dare to knock on the doors to trick or treat…

Make sure to get your photo taken with the Beamish Halloween frame, the terrifying team of photographers will be patrolling the museum.

The 1900s Town Enter the “Best Dressed” costume competition in the bandstand; 7:30pm for children and 8:30pm for adults.

Try the Van der Graaf experiment, electric chair and the Halloween peep-through in the garage. Put on your scariest smile for a petrifying portrait in the photographers. What deadly concoctions are being made in the chemists? Leeches, maggots and heads in jars are in store…

Create a creepy creature, try delicious vomit soup and be warned, there have been sightings of the tormented Grey Lady.

The fire eater will perform in the garden at 7pm, 8pm & 9pm.
