AN ACCLAIMED blues four-piece is set to perform at a village near Barnard Castle.

The Lyndon Anderson Band will bring its distinctive brand of blues music to Bowes and Gilmonby Village Hall, Bowes, on Saturday, November 12.

The band is led by Lyndon Anderson on harp and vocals who plays alongside guitarist Davey Dormand, bass player Christine Wilson and drummer Mickey Southern.

Graham Henley, Bowes got the Blues promoter, said: “I’m sure most of our regular blues audience are really looking forward to hearing them. It is a great privilege to have them play here in Bowes.”

No stranger to blues clubs across the North-East, the group has performed at prestigious events including Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, the Great British R&B Festival, and Stanley Blues Festival.

As well as performing to an audience of more than 15,000, they have shared the stage with such luminaries as Jack Bruce, Eric Bell and Paul Jones.

The bar opens at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 for adults while concessions are £9 and £5 for students.
