POPPY appeal campaigns in Richmond and Northallerton are celebrating after a successful year of fundraising – and are now looking to start again for the coming year.
As the Royal British Legion year closed on the September 30, the Richmond branch said it would like to thank all those who donated to the 2015 Poppy Appeal, raising a record amount of £29,729.

Ruby Davison, Poppy Appeal organiser for Northallerton, said he figure to date for 2015 is £22,668.
She said: “It is an increase of more than £3,000 on 2014 which is fantastic.
“This year, as well as the usual poppies and wreaths, I have hand-knitted poppies kindly made and donated by Northallerton knit and natter group, for which I am extremely grateful.
“I will be selling in the Town Hall, Northallerton on November 5, 9 and 12 from 9am to 3pm. There will also be street collections.”
