FAMILIAR faces from the small screen’s football scene have overseen a Darlington-based raffle set up to raise money for a community-minded charity.

Hurworth’s Rockliffe Hall staged a fundraising evening in aid of the Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF), which was hosted by Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday panel members, Chris Kamara and Charlie Nicholas.

The pair shared dressing room anecdotes and melodramas on the pitch with guests during a two-course BBQ in the venue’s Grassholme Suite earlier this month.

Rockliffe Hall’s assistant chief executive, Helena Bowman, along with the Hall’s CEO, Eamonn Elliott, and Katie Scott, Rockliffe’s sales and marketing manager have since revealed a raffle during the BBQ has raised £540 for the foundation.

A MFCF spokesman said: “We once again would like to extend our appreciation to Rockliffe Hall for their efforts to support our cause and look forward to continuing this flourishing partnership.”

Mr Kamara also pledged to donate VIP passes to the filming of Sunday morning football show, Goals on Sunday.
