OKTOBERFEST is heading to County Durham next month as a country house hosts its very own Bavarian festival.
Hardwick Hall, near Sedgefield, is set to hold an Oktoberfest Bier Keller night on Saturday, October 1, inside a grand marquee in the hotel grounds.
The event is set to bring all of the magic of the famous beer festival and promises a musical journey to the heart of the Bavarian Bier Kellers with plenty of fine German beer on offer.
The sights and sounds of a traditional celebration will be brought to life by the Amazing Bavarian Stompers – a comedy oompah band who have appeared at major German beer festivals and now appear across the UK with their unique act.
John Adamson, director of Ramside Estates, said: “We’ve had an amazing reaction so far to this Oktoberfest event and I think it is going to be a sell-out very soon.
“We’ll be bringing all of the magic of the traditional German beer festival to County Durham, complete with oompah music and Bratwursts - it’s going to be a fantastic night and everyone involved is very excited.
“Fancy dress is most certainly encouraged, and we can’t wait to see the people of the North-East don their lederhosen and join us for a night of hilarious fun, great music and fine beer.”
The event will feature a number of guest beers, live music and DJ and steins will be available to purchase on the night.
Tickets cost £12 and include a traditional bratwurst and a pint of lager.
