AROUND 1,000 runners turned up to take part in the annual "Race The Train" event in Wales.
The race has been taking place in Tywyn in mid-Wales since 1984, with runners having to try to beat a steam train over a 14-mile course.
This year's race was won by Paul Green, of Sale Harriers, in a time of one hour 28 minutes and 23 seconds.
