AWARD-WINNING poet Hollie McNish will be making an appearance at Crown Street Library in Darlington next month.

Ms McNish, who is recognised for her articulation of everyday feminism and the experiences of modern mothers, was recently filmed by Channel 4 for their Random Acts portfolio.

Her visit to Darlington comes with support from the Tees Women Poets.

Ms McNish will perform new work from her latest collection about parenthood, Nobody Told Me, out now with Blackfriars Books.

For the budding poets of Darlington, there are also places available for a special workshop with Ms McNish, which will run from 5.30pm to around 7pm, before the main event starts at 7.30pm on September 8. Tickets to the workshop and event can be bought in advance at £5 or on the door for £6, although booking is recommended.
