Shildon allowed a two goal lead to slip and were held to a 2-2 draw by Whitley Bay at Dean Street last night.

Shildon took the lead after 12 minutes when a 20 yarder by Anthony Bell took a slight deflection and went into the net past the Whitley keeper, then they went 2-0 up when Ben Wood crossed from the right for Paul Connor to score with a glancing header.

But Whitley hit back when Alex Kempster finished off a good move, and in the last minute Ross Wilkinson scored in a goalmouth scramble.

Guisborough drew 2-2 at Newcastle Benfield.

Matty Pennal volleyed Guisborough into the lead on 12 minutes , but Jack Errington headed Benfield level. Lewis Scorgie headed Benfield into the lead, but Benfield defender Steve Tobin headed into his own net in the dying minutes.

In the FA Cup, Dunston UTS are through to the next round after a last minute goal by Liam Thear gave them victory at Penrith.

In the second division, Billingham Synthonia were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Hebburn. Synners took the lead with a header by Max Craggs from a Liam O’Sullivan cross, but Dan Chambers levelled with a header that went in off the post. Craggs fired Synners back in front again, but Scott Wallace equalised.

Stockton Town are now top of the table after they won 2-1 at Willington. They fell behind to a goal by Michael Brown , but hit back with two goals by Tom Coulthard.

Norton lost 3-1 at home to Ryton, after taking an early lead through Glen Donaldson.

Billingham Town had an excellent 6-0 away win at Brandon, while Heaton Stannington had a good 1-0 away win at Northallerton Esh Winning are still without a point after losing 4-1 at home to Durham City Esh took the lead through Johnny Yip, but Calum Patton, Mark Bertram, Jeremy Turnbull and Joe Allen hit back with goals for the visitors.
