PEOPLE in Ferryhill, Chilton, Bishop Middleham and West Cornforth can learn how local issues are being tackled and help set the agenda for the next year at an area action partnership meeting.

The 4 Together Partnership Board will meet at Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College on Wednesday, September 7, 6pm to 8pm.

A key item on the agenda will be the financial challenges that have faced Durham County Council for the last five years, and continue to as the authority looks to save more than £29million in 2017/18.

A senior officer will make a presentation explaining the council’s approach and proposals for the future, as it seeks views ahead of its next budget.

There will also be a talk on child sexual exploitation and the Police and Crime Plan.

People can raise neighbourhood issues for the board to address but should submit them in writing in advance.

There will also be a chance for residents to share their views on the priorities they feel are most important for the area at the current time.

That information will feed into the Partnership’s main voting exercise at the November forum, which steers the decision of the board over funding and action priorities in 2017/18.
