A PARTNERSHIP that brings together some of the key advice providers in County Durham is celebrating reaching a major milestone.

From its launch in 2013 as a partnership of six organisations, Advice in County Durham has expanded to include more than 100 members.

The partnership’s aim is to make it easier for residents to gain the help and support they need, with members from the voluntary, community and public sectors sharing advice, knowledge and expertise.

Jo Laverick, chief executive of Durham Community Action and chairwoman of Advice, said she was delighted with the progress that had been made.

She said: “It is through infectious enthusiasm that the partnership has developed at such a pace. We are thrilled to see such active participation in the work of the network. Reaching this milestone of over 100 members illustrates the benefits organisations can gain by working in partnership.”

There are now 101 members in the network, which provides ‘no wrong door’ access points to information and advice across County Durham.

The network is free to join, there are no costs associated with membership and full training in the use of the partnership’s resources will be provided. New members are always welcome and any organisations that are interested are encouraged to get in touch.

Members must be committed to helping people in their local communities access the right help when they need it, recognising that people’s needs are best served when people work together.
