AN 8-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being struck by a car in North Shields on Sunday night.
The boy, who is from North Shields, was treated at the scene by the paramedic and doctor team from The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) which landed on a grassed area near Hartington Road on Marden Estate.
He suffering multiple injuries including injuries to his head and leg and was flown to Newcastle RVI after being anethatised on scene.
His condition upon arrival was described as critical.
