TALENTED students entertained a packed audience with an evening of music and dance helping to cement their school’s reputation as a centre for creative arts.

A spectacular showcase of music and dance was staged at Richmond School and Sixth Form College and was the culmination of a year of artistic studies.

The two-hour extravaganza featured ensembles, choirs, dance troupes, duets and solos highlighting the depth of talent at the school.

A packed musical programme ranged from pop to film scores, jazz to West End musicals, Disney to classical guitar.

Richmond Singers raised the roof while a Year 10 dance ensemble performed its own tribute to pop star Beyonce.

Head of music Allison Brown said: “It was a peerless performance that was thoroughly enjoyed and fully appreciated by the audience.

“Our new department has gone from strength to strength and you cannot go anywhere near it without hearing music coming from all areas.

“Our teachers and our students have done an amazing job and I am incredibly proud of their efforts.

“They have worked tirelessly in lessons, extra-curricular clubs and in their own time and are a credit to the school, themselves and their families who do so much to support their efforts.”
