TWO bikers involved in separate accidents on Sunday are both in a stable condition.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called out twice on the same day to the crashes - the first at Preston-Under-Scar, near Leyburn, at noon, and the second on the B6255 at Widdale, near Hawes at around 3.40pm.

North Yorkshire Police said the man in the first accident, who is from Durham and in his 30s, suffered hip injuries and is at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where his condition is described as stable.

The second incident involved a man in his 40s from Teesside, who collided with a Seat Ibiza while riding his BMW bike, and he suffered arm injuries.

He was also taken to James Cook Hospital, and his injuries are not life threatening.

Police are appealing for witnesses to both accidents, and ask for anyone who saw either riders leading up to the crashes to get in touch on 101.
