THE air ambulance was called to assist a woman who fell from her horse.
The 59-year-old suffered head injuries following the accident, which happened at Sadberge, near Darlington, at about noon today.
The doctor-led team from the Great North Air Ambulance assessed and treated the patient, before she was transported to hospital by a land vehicle.
Her injuries are not said to be life-threatening.
