BURGLARS broke into a primary school and used a stainless steel trolley to make off with thousands of pounds worth of projectors and electrical equipment.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said Shiney Row Primary School in South View, Shiney Row, near Houghton-le-Spring, was raided between 4pm on Friday, July 22 and 7.30am on Monday, July 25.

Some of the stolen items include: 17 BENQ 3000 lumen projectors, valued at £1,000 each; a Panasonic sound system; a Panasonic mixing system and a Panasonic monitor - as well as a stainless steel trolley.

It is thought the burglars left the school over the fields at the back of South View.

Police said the pupils would suffer if the items were not recovered. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
