MORE than 20 volunteers have joined forces to help produce a documentary detailing the past, present and the future of Bishop Auckland

Amateur film-maker Chris Anderson, who grew up in the town, is behind the project having previously produced a film on Bishop Auckland’s community spirit in the 1970s.

He has been inspired once again, this time thanks to the open air night show Kynren – An epic tale of England.

He posted his idea on the History of Bishop Auckland Facebook page and within the hour was inundated with enquiries and offers of help.

The volunteers, who include camera operators, photographers, students, and teachers, met recently to share ideas and passion for the area.

The film will combine factual information with personal memories and will feature interviews with local people and those who were born or lived here and have since become famous.

It is expected to be finished early next year.
