MUSIC legends from the 1970s are to feature at an event to raise money for Whitby Town FC.

Sports and entertainments promoter Dennis Hobson is to stage the Coastline Festival at The Stables on Guisborough Town, Whitby, on Saturday, August 6.

The one-day event will feature 10cc and The Real Thing. They will be supported by Billy Bibby and The Wry Smiles together with The Mexanines and Whitby band Raw 60s.

The event is to raise money to keep Whitby Town FC playing in the Northern Premier League.

Mr Hobson said: “I know what it’s like to operate a club at Whitby Town’s level and we need to support these clubs to ensure they can survive for the community as well as the sake of football.”

The festival begins at 1.30pm. Tickets cost £38 or £100 for VIP packages. Children under-16 are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
