A STOCKTON business has donated £855 to the cancer care unit at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough following a charity summer event.

Vianet, a "business insight" company, held the event at Crathorne Hall to raise the cash.

Matt Lane, managing director of Vianet, said some staff had been personally touched by the dedicated staff in the unit.

He said: "People within our company have been personally impacted by this debilitating disease. We are delighted that our donation will be put to such good use supporting those directly affected by cancer and their families.

"We wish to thank the amazing work of the cancer ward and all of its staff. It has been great to visit the hospital to deliver the cheque personally and see the care and extra effort that the staff put in."
