A TEENAGER has completed a skydive in memory of a much-loved teacher.
Cassie Adams, 17, took the plunge at Shotton Airfield, in County Durham, as a tribute to Gillian Bittlestone, who died in April.
Miss Bittlestone, who taught Cassie at Durham Johnston Comprehensive School, was diagnosed with cancer last August.
Cassie, who has just completed her A-levels, raised £395, which will be split between MacMillan Cancer Support, and a trust fund for Miss Bittlestone's four-year-old daughter Sofia.
She said: "Miss Bittlestone was a real inspiration to us all and I wanted to do something special in her memory. The skydive was an amazing experience – I'd highly recommend it to anyone."
Cassie plans to study computer digital science at Northumbria University.
