A FAMILY has been left devastated after their two pet dogs were killed in an arson attack.
The fire was started at allotments in South Bank, Middlesbrough, in the early hours of this morning.
Cleveland Police said three vehicles were set on fire, and the blaze spread to a nearby shed containing 20 pigeons and two family pet dogs.
One was a five year old husky named Skye and the other was a small terrier named Pippa.
Both died in the fire along with the 20 pigeons.
"The family have been left devastated by this attack," said a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police.
A 28-year-old local man has been arrested and is being interviewed regarding the incident.
