MOTORISTS are being warned of an overnight road closure in County Durham.
Road resurfacing work is to be carried out on a section of the A689 eastbound, in Sedgefield, from Thursday, July 21, and is expected to be completed by Saturday, July 30.
The work, which is being carried out by Durham County Council, will take place between 7pm and 6am.
Between those times, the eastbound carriageway will be closed between the A177 Hardwick Park roundabout and the Stockton Road roundabout.
Signposted diversion routes will be in place through Sedgefield from Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24.
From Monday, July 25, to the completion of works, there will be a contraflow system in place on the A689 westbound carriageway.
The work is part of the authority’s programme to resurface the road network across the county.
