AN ART exhibition which looks at post-natal depression and anxiety has gone on display in North Yorkshire.
The work by Hartlepool-based glass artist Rachel Laycock includes a mix of sculptural pieces with words, lights and shadow and is being hosted by Thirsk Rural Arts at The Old Courthouse on Westgate in Thirsk.
The exhibition, Cracks of Love, is inspired by her own experience of post-natal depression and is designed to raise awareness of anxiety and depression.
Rachel is an established artist and has delivered kiln glass evening classes at Sunderland University and been a resident artist on many occasions to schools, colleges and galleries throughout the North-East and North Yorkshire.
Gallery manager Angela Holt said: “It’s a new body of work which she’s still developing and it focuses on relationships, communication and the use of language.
“It’s quite a different exhibition for us and has had positive feedback from customers.”
The exhibition runs until July 22.
