THREE school friends are celebrating winning the Application of Science Award at the Tees Valley Big Bang Fair event at Teesside University.
Teesside High School Year 9 pupils Hannah Foster, Gabriella Bell and Jenni Lee-Orlopp beat off the competition to be crowned winners with their project entitled; Could Photobioreractors Help to Solve the Energy Crisis?
The girls at the Eaglescliffe school will travel to the National Finals in Birmingham next year to represent the region.
Physics Teacher, Mrs Katie Ward said: “I am incredibly proud of the students. They were absolutely amazing under some really intense questioning. I am thrilled that all of their hard work has paid off. They are very excited to develop their project further in preparation for the national final in March.”
