A YOUTH drama group that teamed up with police to warn of the dangers of borrowing money from illegal lenders have been honoured.
Bishop Auckland Theatre Hooligans won a Hero award from the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
Working with Durham police, BATH created a six-part show about families who needed money and how easy it is to become indebted to criminals.
The six to 19-year-olds also set up a school bank to encourage pupils to save regularly and adopt good money management habits.
Leon Livermore, chief executive of CTSI, said BATH came up with a unique and inspiring way to make people aware of the risks of borrowing money from loan sharks.
