STAFF at Darlington’s Asda joined in a community ‘Strawberry Tea Party’ in support of a new charity campaign for Breast Cancer Care.

Asda community champion, Louise Gibson , was joined by five colleagues and another 25 mothers and toddlers from Springfield Toddler Group in support of the charity’s annual summer fundraiser, Strawberry Tea.

The children all made crowns and were dressed in red, white and blue, whilst the parents enjoyed strawberry scones and fresh fruit.

The children were even treated to some Royal visitors, albeit toddler group leaders.

Ms Gibson said: “We are delighted to support Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea campaign.

“The money raised through Strawberry Teas makes a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

“It was fantastic to see so many people come and show their support and pledge to host their own Strawberry Tea parties over the next couple of weeks.” Our colleagues and customers across Darlington and the rest of the UK have always been incredibly supportive of our fundraising activities and I know this time will be no different.”
