PLANS to build a bungalow with a double garage in the garden of another property will be reviewed this week after attracting objection letters from concerned residents.

Similar proposals to erect a new dwelling on land behind Barmpton Lane, Darlington, have been rejected twice by Darlington Borough Council’s Planning Applications Committee in 2011 and 2012.

But members are set to decide on revised plans submitted by John Richardson during a committee meeting on Wednesday.

Proposed access to the new build would be provided by an existing driveway to another Barmpton Lane property.

However neighbours living along the same stretch of road have revealed their concerns over increased traffic flow adding to the lane’s reputation as being notorious for speeding motorists.

It has been recommended that the Planning Applications Committee members should grant the plans, but members of the public can hear the full application before a formal decision is made in the Town Hall from 1.30pm.
